<P>9.2.9.7 [<A href="https://wg21.link/dcl.spec.auto">dcl.spec.auto</A>] does not address the case when the
initializer for an <TT>auto</TT> variable is a parenthesized
<I>expression-list</I>.</P>

<P><B>Proposed resolution (August, 2011):</B></P>

<P>Change 9.2.9.7 [<A href="https://wg21.link/dcl.spec.auto#3">dcl.spec.auto</A>] paragraph 3 as follows:</P>

<P>...<TT>auto</TT> shall appear as one of the <I>decl-specifier</I>s in
the <I>decl-specifier-seq</I> and the <I>decl-specifier-seq</I> shall
be followed by one or more <I>init-declarator</I>s, each of which
shall have a non-empty initializer. <INS>In an <I>initializer</I> of
the form</INS>
