<P>[Voted into WP at October, 2009 meeting.]</P>

<P>According to 12.2.2.4 [<A href="https://wg21.link/over.match.ctor">over.match.ctor</A>],</P>

<BLOCKQUOTE>

When objects of class type are direct-initialized (9.5 [<A href="https://wg21.link/dcl.init">dcl.init</A>]), or copy-initialized from an expression of the
same or a derived class type (9.5 [<A href="https://wg21.link/dcl.init">dcl.init</A>])... [the] argument list is
the <I>expression-list</I> within the parentheses of the
initializer.

</BLOCKQUOTE>

<P>However, in copy initialization (using the &#8220;=&#8221;
notation), there need be no parentheses. What is the argument list
in that case?</P>

<P><B>Proposed resolution (June, 2009):</B></P>

<P>Change 12.2.2.4 [<A href="https://wg21.link/over.match.ctor#1">over.match.ctor</A>] paragraph 1 as follows:</P>

<BLOCKQUOTE>

...The argument list is the <I>expression-list</I> <INS>or
<I>assignment-expression</I></INS> <DEL>within the parentheses</DEL> of the
<DEL>initializer</DEL> <INS><I>initializer</I></INS>.
